Waking up early or staying up late?!

Waking up can really help you on your way to success but have you ever thought that staying up late could, too?

First of all, we want to highlight one thing, there are many articles written about how waking up creates successful people. Yes, sure it helps tremendously because of the reasons below, but there is still but! If you are the person that is most productive in the evening or at night, waking up early won’t be the best option for you. We want to highlight this, as we are kind of full of articles that just tries to persuade you that waking up is the key for everyone. That’s not true! A lot of people are much more effective during different times of the day and so waking up early could not be suitable for them. The importance is to find out what type you are and asses that individually. So, forget about generalization and choose the best option for you!

Firstly, you can benefit from a better quality of sleep. If you get up early, you will tend to go to bed earlier, too. That can create a good habit leading to that even at the weekends you get up earlier without setting up the alarm. And if your body gets used to such a habit, you will be sleeping better, as your body will set up the hours for sleeping and hours for work! However, if you are rather more productive during the night, most probably you won’t be able to do that much in the morning and so you will waste your time trying to wake up during morning hours. If your daily routine will be the same and you will go to bed at the same time regularly and wake up at the regular time, too, then your body will create a habit that increases your quality of sleep as well.

Secondly, you can enjoy the silence in the morning and work undisturbed. Most of the people in the morning are still sleeping or preparing themselves to work, so definitely no one will call you, write you messages or whatsoever, as it is also not accepted by society to call you at 5 am. Thus, you can focus on the work and not on the disturbing environment around you. Yet, there is the same benefit for staying up late. You can work undisturbed during the evening and night, too. As the majority of people will be sleeping, you can work without any distractions.

Then, your days feel longer. As you wake up early and start working earlier, you finish your work earlier, too, and can overall do more work. Therefore, you get the feeling that you did more work in less time and still there is some time left for your hobbies, family or just relaxing. Contrary, this benefit usually you don’t have if you stay up late, but with good time management, you can do your relaxing activity in between work or even before. This leads to greater effectiveness, as you refresh yourself from the work and you can put one hundred percent. As we say, the importance is not just in demanding work, but also in smart work. Sometimes even fun first can bring more results for your productive work later on.

Another benefit is that if you have to commute to your workplace and you can start earlier, you benefit much from the traffic that is not full as at the usual time. So, you save additional time that you can effectively use and not using that time by being stuck in a morning traffic jam. On the other hand, the same it is if you go to work later than the other, as for example at 10 am, sure the traffic is bigger than at 6 am, however, it’s not going to be that bad as at the peak. The way home is going to be completely fine for you. Thus, you see that both options can benefit in the same way.

Don’t be afraid to do it your way, experiment, try out both methods, and find out which one is better for you.

Life is extremely individual, and nobody can live the same life as someone else. That’s the reason why it is always important to “tailor-made” the solution that fits to you. Waking up early can be great, at the same time staying up late can be great, too, in some cases better than waking up early. Just to give you an example, there are many successful entrepreneurs that establish their own business just because of the fact that they hate waking up early so much that they wanted to escape from their 9-5 jobs.

We are sure that you definitely know such a person, too, that proves that not only waking up early is the way to success.

There are people that are so-called “night owls” and the other group is “early birds”. So, it doesn’t matter if you’re not able to wake up early and work. Working during the night hours is fine. You can reach your dreams by sleeping longer than the others. Just make it comfortable for you!

To give a brief overview of the important points for you, follow the guideline below.

1. Find out if you are more effective during the night or morning hours.
2. Ask yourself if you rather want to finish your work early and enjoy the rest of the day or if you want to have it more flexible and divide it, for instance to different parts of the day.
3. Listen to your body and pay attention to the signs it gives you.
4. Make the plan and time schedule.
5. Track your activities and effectiveness and according to that modify your plan and timetable.
6. Stick to it!

To conclude this article, just focus on you personally and not on the others. You are always the most important person that you have to listen to, based on that you may adjust your life to the best, but to live according to the prescribed plan would not work. There are a lot of tips that help you a lot but remember not all of them can be best for you.
