Life is so incredible and opportunities just lie in front of our feet, but still, we see a lot of gloomy faces just while walking on the street. Many people are unhappy while supposedly having everything to be happy and to enjoy life. That’s the common problem, which wrapped up the whole world, and the background of this could be very simple. Humanity turned to materialistic values way more than it was before. People have become suspicious of each other and do not expect anything good coming from strangers. The song’s line which has almost become an anthem “Somebody wants to use you, and somebody wants to be used by you” penetrated our minds and does not let us be free towards people around us, does not let us manifest and share respect, love and support.
Each of us noticed this problem. The majority accepted this like it is, keeping in mind “What can I do? I am too small and the world is so big”. However, still, many enthusiasts are out there, who do not give up on trying to make this world a better place to live. One of them is Santiago Arce, who comes from the Colombian capital city, Bogota. We are proud to have this amazing person as a friend and would love to share with you his ideas and initiatives to make the world better.
“It is possible to change the world even on your own, you just gotta believe in yourself and do what you can do to make it happen”, says Santiago.

The power of small steps and actions counts. Even the most minor positive thing which brings people joy is important. Just a simple smile, a compliment, a good word of support can completely change a day of people around us, make them feel not alone, make them feel belonging to the incredible community of kind people. People tend to think that these things do not change anything, and it makes them closed-minded and cold. But in reality, it is important.
“Ask yourself how many people smiled to you today, or how many people told you that you look good. This answer could be quite disappointing. But remind yourself how inspired you are when these things happen, how good and powerful you feel yourself”, says Santiago.
Therefore, our friend started making a change, a change to turn people’s day, mood, and life overall the better way. “I started from small steps just by making inspirational posts and stories. I wanted to reach people who know me, to talk to them, and give them tips I find important to be motivated and happy. I really have a lot to say and would like to reach as many people as possible to make their life better. To cover more people, I decided to arrange some public initiatives just like approaching people outside. The first idea, which came to my mind was giving flowers to random women on the street. To scale up the effect, my friend filmed me while I was giving flowers, and we uploaded the video on my YouTube channel, so more people can see the reaction of random people on getting flowers from a stranger”. Santiago says that overall people felt suspicious about his actions. Almost everyone did not believe that Santiago wanted to give them a flower as a gift and repeatedly asked him how much they need to pay. But as he convinced them that it was a gesture of goodwill, all the women smiled and were happy afterwards.
“I felt awesome when I made the women smile. I think they meet this gesture rarely from their beloved ones, so of course, they were confused when I approached them with this. I plan to arrange more initiatives like this and to show people another side of the coin which is better”.

Santiago has many ideas he would love to work on. The project he is pursuing at the moment is the distribution of Lifestraw in the framework of the SUMERCEFIT web-store. Lifestraw is a wearable container, which can be filled with water. This product has embedded technology, which cleans up water and makes it drinkable. “Almost 900 million people on Earth don’t have access to clean drinking water. Especially, African nations suffer from this disaster. Therefore, I decided to engage myself to mitigate this problem. The idea of my project is to sell multiple-use bottles combined with a Lifestraw. We offer our customers an option to contribute a Lifestraw that can be removed from the bottle to the needs of African people, who face a lack of clean drinking water on a daily basis. SUMERCEFIT cooperates with 5 foundations in Africa and can ship the product to all the right places, making possible this dream of helping the people that need it the most”, says Santiago. We strongly believe that change comes from each of us and every single good action can make the world a better place to live. Imagine that everyone on Earth makes something good for others every day. How fast will we solve essential problems for humanity then?!
We are inspired and elevated by enthusiasts and believers such as our friend Santiago and ready to support him with his ideas and initiatives!
Are you ready to make a change? We are convinced that you are! Remember, do not hesitate to do little things, because these are the things which make great changes happen!
Stay motivated and hungry for success!
