Never before in our history, people had been so mobile as nowadays. The opportunity to travel, to

experience new cultures, and to work overseas is not anymore available only for a small number of individuals. This lifestyle spreads out in masses and fascinates more and more people who grab the chance and sail away to the new shores of life. In city centers of major state capitals, any time we can hear an enormous variety of languages people speak there.
Some of these people are not just tourists. They are the ones who after thousands of doubts combated the fear to leave a comfort zone behind and determined themselves to try a different life they were thinking about so long.
There are plenty of reasons to go abroad. Someone wants to study in a foreign environment and to get better acquainted with the culture he admires. Another one desires to experience the working lifestyle abroad and wants to build his career there. But curiosity and wish to try ourselves in a foreign environment stays in common and pushes us forward to the new world.
Coming up with a decision to move abroad takes a lot of guts, even though people could be super excited

about foreign culture and seemingly ready to take the next significant step. The first common fear which appears in people’s mind is “I do not speak the local language”.
Such a banal fear one would think.
However, this makes millions of enthusiasts give up on their dream to experience life abroad and makes them stay home. Is this fear legitimate? We can certainly say no and give you a couple of reasons to justify this standpoint.
Nowadays, in most of the countries knowledge of English language is getting significantly better. Among locals, especially young people seek to improve their English and do not hesitate to get in touch with newcomers who do not speak their native language.
Another justifying point is that you are not the first foreigner who came to the country of your dream. There are plenty of other internationals who stick to English as the main language for communication. Additionally, moving abroad to a country whose language you do not speak will serve as an incredible motivator to learn it. And where you can better do that if not in the native environment where everybody speaks that language?! Locals very much appreciate when foreigners try to speak their language and are quite likely to help you with learning.
Another very common fear that occurs while deciding on moving abroad is “I do not know anyone there”.

Nowadays, you can easily find on the Internet communities of like-minded internationals in the country of your destination. Even before arriving, you can make quite some friends by chatting with them on social media. Moreover, there are definitely some people from your country who moved there before you. These people group quite often in diasporas and are very glad to welcome newcomers from their motherland.
Furthermore, meeting new people is always awesome. The trait which unites internationals who move abroad is their openness to new ideas, adventures, and desire to learn from others. All the internationals carry great knowledge and experience they are ready to manifest and share with others. Therefore, getting to know new people and making new friends abroad is the best way on how to improve yourself from different angles and to become the best version of yourself!
The long well-established settlement provides us with the so-called “Comfort zone”. While living over a long period of time in one place, we gain enough comfort and securities we are not willing easily to give up on. Consciously, most of us think we are ready to make a big change in our life anytime we want and to follow passion as soon as we feel it. However, subconsciously it is not the case. We barely want to expose ourselves to the risks of the outer world. This mixture of the two extremes hits us with another common fear which is “What if I will not like it there”. This fear brings up a lot of excuses why we should not change the current country we live in. “People could be too different from the way I am”. It can be true, although, a difference is not necessarily something bad.
Contrary, while sensing the differences and comparing them to our culture, we can understand more and open our eyes to many things that have remained unvisible for us. This helps us to acquire new cultural values that integrate into our life and make it better. When a man comes free of prejudice with an open-minded attitude and seeks to learn from others, he will never fail. Most of the people out there are always welcome and willing to help, we just need to ask for that.

“The good life is wherever we happen not to be”. We calm down ourselves by saying that it is just an illusion. Everywhere, we should work hard on things to make them run the way we want. This is true. However, it is not the reason why to not experience life abroad. Getting to know a foreign culture and openness to get to know new like-minded people from diverse backgrounds is definitely something we cannot manage efficiently at home. We always tend to stay in a circle of our family, and friends we know from the very childhood. This in turn limits us in many ways and does not let us continuously upgrade ourselves.
Depression and hopelessness come often due to the same routine we face every day and the limited perspective we look at things from. This can be changed by new challenges and adventures that life abroad carries along with. You will learn an enormous number of new things and open the best of yours.
If you feel a zeal to move abroad and are passionate about multicultural societies never limit yourself in your choices. The worst feeling is regretting what you have not tried. This is what really counts at the end of the day. Always combat your fears and move forward to your goals!!!
We hope these tips will support you while making a decision to sail away to the new shores!!!
